Event Profile
Festival of SAARC Folklore is meant to project the deep foundations of Peoples' Culture in the region and to employ oral lore in the service of the cultural consciousness of the region. About fifty folklore scholars from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal and Maldives will come together to explore, analyze and explain the different aspects of Folklore in South Asia. The festival intends to showcase South Asian Folklore through discussions as well as performances. The chief objective of the event is to grasp the cultural continuities among the countries of the region.
