Event Profile
The conference, Literature in Times of Violence, is being organized by MELUS-India and MELOW to find how literature and art respond to and are shaped by the violence of the times. The conference aims at finding answers to the queries such as the response of literature to the legacy of mass violence and political conflict, the response of readers to the various tensions that go into the making of great literature and the models available for understanding these literary responses to the turbulence of the times. The event will explore these and related issues, taking up diverse genres – literature, cinema, theatre, media, popular culture, etc.
