The Shri Mahavirji Fair is celebrated every year from Chaitra Shukla Ekadasi to Baisakh Krishna Dwitiya i.e in the month of March-April. It is celebrated to honor the memory of Shri Mahavir Swami, who was the 24th saint of the Jains. The main venue for the fair is Mahavirji Temple which is located in an area known as 'Katala'. The image of Mahavirji is washed and then pujan and ashta-argha (eight oblations) are performed. Every evening aarti is conducted and ghee lamps are lit. The fair is well known for the Rath Yatra. On Baisakh Krishna Dwitiya the image of the god is taken to the bank of the Gambhiri River for Kalash Abhishek. After the ceremony of Kalash Abhishek, the procession returns and the image is reinstated back at the temple. The devotees gather at the temple to worship & be blessed by the saint.
