Ingredients:
- 3/4 Cup of tamarind juice.
- 2 Cups Rice (Cooked)
- 1 tsp Urad Dal
- ¼ Cup Peanuts
- ¼ Chana Dal
- ½ Bunch Curry Leaves
- 2 Green Chilies
- 4 red chilies
- 2 tbsp Mustard seeds
- 2 tsp Turmeric
- 1 tsp Asafoetida (Hing)
- ½ Cup Oil
- 1 tsp Jeera
- Salt ( to taste)
How to make Andhra Tamarind Rice:
- Soak the tamarind in one bowl of water.
- Extract thick juice from it.
- Take a cooked rice in a bowl add little salt , tamarind juice and mix it well. keep this bowl aside.
- Take a frying pan add oil to it.
- Now add Mustard seeds, Channa Dal, Urad Dal, curry leaves, peanuts, red chilies, jeer , Asafoetida, and green chilies fry it for 3 minutes.
- Mix fried ingredients to the rice bowl.
- Tamarind rice is ready to eat.
Suggestions:
Serve with coconut chutney.
