Ingredients:
- 1 Chicken (whole chicken)
- 2 Onions (chopped)
- 10 small Onions
- 2 Tomatoes (chopped)
- 1 tbsp Chili Powder
- 1 tbsp Dhania Powder
- 5 Green Chilly (slit)
- Salt to taste
- 1 cup Coconut (grated)
- 1 tsp Khus Khus
- 2 inch Ginger (Piece)
- 1 bunch Coriander Leaves
- 1 cup Mint Leaves
- 6 Garlic (small flakes)
- 100ml Oil as required
How to make Chicken Chettinad Dry:
- Fry half the amount of onions, green chillies and tomatoes in oil .
- Add the chicken pieces and cook till pieces are browned on all sides.
- Add chili and dhania powder and salt and cook, adding enough water to cook till chicken is tender.
- Grind coconut, khus khus, ginger, coriander leaves, mint leaves and the remaining onions.
- Heat a deep frying kadai or frying pan and fry the onions, till brown.
- Add the ground masala and cook till the masala is cooked and the raw smell goes.
- Add the cooked chicken and cook till well done.
