Ingredients:
- 5 small Potatoes (scrubbed and cubed with skin)
- 2 tbsp Butter (softened)
- ½ cup Cream
- 1 pinch Nutmeg (ground)
- Salt (to taste)
- Black Pepper (freshly ground, to taste)
- 1 (14.5 ounce) can Sauerkraut (drained and rinsed)
- 1 pound Turkey Kielbasa Sausage (sliced ¾-inch thick)
- 2 tbsp Butter (softened)
- Water (as required)
How to make Crawford Polish Bake:
- Preheat oven to 325 °F (165 °C).
- Place the potatoes in a large saucepan and pour enough water to cover them.
- Boil the water on high heat.
- Reduce the heat to medium-low and cover the pan. Simmer for about 20 minutes, till the potatoes turn tender.
- Drain the potatoes and mash them.
- Mix the mashed potatoes with 2 tbsp butter, cream, nutmeg, salt and pepper.
- Place the sauerkraut in a casserole dish.
- Top with kielbasa sausage.
- Spread the mashed potatoes over the meat.
- Dot the preparation with 2 tbsp butter.
- Bake for 20 to 30 minutes till the mixture is heated well through.
