Ingredients:
- 1½ cup Masoor Dal
- ½ tsp Turmeric Powder
- 4 Green Chilies
- 2 pods Garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp Coriander Leaves
- 5 Curry Leaves
- Salt, to taste
- 2 tsp Lemon Juice
- 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
- 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
- 2 tsp Ghee
- ¼ tsp Asofetida (hing)
How to make Dal Tadka:
- Wash and drain the dal and then put it in the pressure cooker, along with turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp salt and water. Make sure that the dal is not over cooked.
- Now, take a non stick pan and heat ghee in it. Add cumin seeds, curry leaves and mustard seeds to it.
- When the seeds start to splutter, put asofetida, green chilies and garlic and fry for a minute.
- Now, add cooked dal and salt in the prepared tadka and fry for 4 to 5 minutes.
- Sprinkle lemon juice on top.
- Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with chapattis and rice.
