Ingredients:
- 6 pounds Onions (sliced)
- 4 slices Bacon
- 1 (16 ounce) container Sour Cream
- 4 Eggs
- 2 tbsp All-Purpose Flour
- ½ tsp Salt
- ½ tsp Caraway Seeds
- 1 (9-inch) Single Crust Pie
How to make Zwiebelkuchen:
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Place the crust pie into a jelly-roll pan or a large pizza pan.
- Place a skillet over fire and fry onions in it, until they turn translucent.
- Transfer the onions into a large mixing bowl.
- Place the bacons slices in a large, deep skillet and cook over medium high heat. Cook till they turn evenly brown.
- Drain the bacon slices and chop them.
- Add the chopped bacon to the onions and mix well.
- Add in the sour cream.
- Beat the eggs and stir in the bacon mixture.
- Add flour to thicken the mixture.
- Add salt and mix well.
- Pour the mixture into the pie crust.
- Sprinkle with caraway seeds.
- Bake the pie in the oven for about 1 hour or till the onions start to turn golden brown on top.
- Serve hot.
