Ingredients:
  • ½ cup Red Cowpeas
  • 200 gm Ashgourd (peeled)
  • 6 Green Chillies (slit)
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 stalk of Curry Leaves
  • 1 cup Coconut Milk
  • 2 ½ tsp Oil
How to make Kumbalanga Olan:
  • Soak the cowpeas in water all night.
  • Drain it. Put cowpeas and ¾ cup water in a pressure cooker and cook for around 10-15 min.
  • Boil ashgourd, green chillies, 1 stalk curry leave with salt to taste in a pan. Cook for 30 min on high flame.
  • Crush the boiled ashgourd lightly in pan. Add cowpeas, coconut milk and cook for another 2 min.
  • Add oil and curry leave to it. Stir well.
  • Serve it hot.
