Ingredients:
- 2 tamarind (lemon sized balls)
- Salt to taste
For the Paste:
- 2 tbsp Red Gram Dal
- 2 tsp Pepper
- 2 tsp Coriander Seeds
- 2 tsp Cumin Seeds
- 2 Red Chilies (dried)
- 4 tsp Oil
For the Seasoning:
- 2 tsp Ghee or Purified Butter
- 2 sprigs Curry Leaves
- Coriander Leaves
- A pinch of Asafetida
How to make Milagu Rasam:
- Fry red gram dal, pepper, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, red chilies in oil and grind it and make a paste out of it.
- Boil the tamarind in water and remove the pulp of tamarind
- Add little salt, water about 4 cups and make a boil.
- Take about 8 cups of water and mix the paste.
- Add the tamarind boiling water to it and boil it further
- Fry curry leaves in ghee/ Purified butter.
- Season it with asafetida, coriander leaves and the fried curry leaves.
Suggestions:
Serve with hot rice.
