Ingredients:
  • 200 grams (7.5 oz) White Button Mushrooms
  • 2 medium sized Onions
  • 2 Tomatoes (chopped)
  • 7 Cloves Garlic
  • 1/2 inch Ginger
  • 4-5 Cashews
  • 1/2 tsp Garam Masala
  • 1/2 tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Coriander Seed Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin Powder (Jeera)
  • 3 tsp Khoya or 2tsp Milk Powder
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • Coriander
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Sugar
  • 1- 1 1/2 tsp Salt
How to make Mushroom Butter Masala:
  • Spread over a mixture of salt and red chilli powder on the mushrooms. Dry them for 2-3 minutes in oil. Set them aside.
  • Bake (heat) the onions, and remove the charred black part.
  • Add this onions with ginger, garlic and cashews in mixer-grinder and make a smooth paste.
  • In a pan melt the butter. And sauté the onion paste, tomato puree and add the garam masala, coriander seed powder, cumin powder, salt and sugar.
  • Add milk powder . Cook(boil) them for about 5 minutes.
  • Add the fried mushrooms into the gravy.
  • Garnish it with the fresh coriander and serve.
Suggestions:
Serve hot with chapati or rice.
