This is an extremely popular dish in all households, and the best part is that it goes with all main dishes. All you need to do is add some chopped onions with curd and your lovely side dish is ready to dig into.

Ingredients:
  • 2 Onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 Mustard seeds
  • 1 Ginger, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Oil
  • 1 Green chilly, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 kg Curd
  • Finely chopped coriander leaves
How to make Onion Raita:
  • Add salt, onion, green chilly and coriander leaves onto beat curd - raita is ready.
  • In a large wok, heat oil and add mustard seeds.
  • Add it to the raita and mix well.
  • Refrigerate the raita for one to two hours before serving.
  • Serve the raita with imli rice.

The preparation instructions do not include the ginger, which is included in the ingredient list. I am not sure whether to add it uncooked or saute it with the mustard seed. Guess I'll try it both ways and see which tastes best.
