Ingredients:
- 1/3 cup Peanut Butter (reduced fat)
- 1½ cup Flour (all-purpose)
- 2/3 cup Apple Sauce (unsweetened)
- ¾ cup Baking Cocoa
- ¾ Egg Substitute
- 2 cups Sugar
- 2 tsp Vanilla Extract
- ½ tsp Salt
For Filling
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- ¼ cup Egg Substitute
- ¼ cup Sugar
- 3 oz. Cream Cheese (reduced fat and softened)
- 1/3 cup Peanut Butter (reduced fat)
For Frosting
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 2 tbsp Baking Cocoa
- 2 tbsp Milk
- 1 cup Confectioners’ Sugar
- 1 tsp Water
How to make Peanut Butter Brownies:
- Mix flour, sugar, cocoa and salt.
- Mix in the apple sauce and continue stirring.
- Pour half of the batter into a greased pan of 13in x 9in x 2in size
- Mix the filling ingredients and beat until smooth.
- Add to the dough.
- Stir the dough with a ‘cut and fold’ rhythm.
- Once the dough is smooth, place it in oven, to bake at 325 deg F, for 25 to 30 minutes.
- Bake until the center is set and the edges are firm
- Once done, cool on wire rack
- Mix the frosting ingredients in a small bowl and spread over brownies for final touch.
