Ingredients:
- 1 cup Orange Juice (preferably fresh squeezed)
- 1 tbsp fresh Lemon Juice
- 1 tsp Lemon Zest (grated)
- ¼ cup Honey
- ½ tsp Cinnamon
- ¼ cup Walnuts (chopped)
- 24 Prunes (unpitted)
How to make Prunes In Orange Sauce:
- Place a medium saucepan on fire and mix together orange juice, lemon juice, lemon zest, honey and cinnamon.
- Boil the mixture on high heat and add prunes.
- Reduce the heat to low and cover the pan. Simmer for about 10 minutes ensuring that the prunes do not get soggy.
- Add walnuts and cook for some more minutes.
- Remove the prunes from the pan and increase the heat to medium-high. Cook till the liquid reduces to half.
- Place the prunes on a serving plate.
- Pour the syrup over the prunes. Chill or serve warm.
- Serve warm with oatmeal, polenta or frozen vanilla yoghurt.
- In case you are using a cinnamon, leave it in the syrup with the prunes.
