Ingredients:
  • 1 cup Orange Juice (preferably fresh squeezed)
  • 1 tbsp fresh Lemon Juice
  • 1 tsp Lemon Zest (grated)
  • ¼ cup Honey
  • ½ tsp Cinnamon
  • ¼ cup Walnuts (chopped)
  • 24 Prunes (unpitted)
How to make Prunes In Orange Sauce:
  • Place a medium saucepan on fire and mix together orange juice, lemon juice, lemon zest, honey and cinnamon.
  • Boil the mixture on high heat and add prunes.
  • Reduce the heat to low and cover the pan. Simmer for about 10 minutes ensuring that the prunes do not get soggy.
  • Add walnuts and cook for some more minutes.
  • Remove the prunes from the pan and increase the heat to medium-high. Cook till the liquid reduces to half.
  • Place the prunes on a serving plate.
  • Pour the syrup over the prunes. Chill or serve warm.
  • Serve warm with oatmeal, polenta or frozen vanilla yoghurt.
  • In case you are using a cinnamon, leave it in the syrup with the prunes.
