Ingredients:
- 100 g Butter
- 2 large Eggs
- 150 ml Castor Sugar
- 200 ml Plain Flour
- 1 tsp Baking Powder
- 50 ml Milk
For Topping
- 100 g Butter
- 100 ml Castor Sugar
- 2 tbsp Plain Flour
- 2 tbsp Milk
- 100 g Flaked Almonds
How to make Tosca Cake:
- Grease and flour a 24-cm round baking dish.
- Beat eggs and castor sugar until white and fluffy.
- Mix plain flour and baking powder together.
- Stir the flour mixture into the eggs.
- Add in the milk and butter. Beat well.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
- Bake in the oven at 350°F (175 °C), for 20 to 25 minutes.
- Combine butter, castor sugar, flour, milk and flaked almonds in a saucepan.
- Heat and stir well, until the mixture thickens.
- Remove the cake and spread the topping over the cake, using a spatula.
- Bake the cake for another 15 minutes, till the topping turns golden and gets a little caramelized.
