Mixed Dal

Ingredients:
- 3 tbsp Moong Dal
- 3 tbsp Urad Dal
- 3 tbsp Tuvar Dal
- 3 tbsp Chana Dal
- ½ tsp Cumin Seeds
- A pinch of Asafetida
- ½ cup Onions, diced
- 2 Tomatoes, diced
- 1 inch Ginger, chopped
- 2 Green Chilies, chopped
- ½ tsp Turmeric Powder
- ¼ tsp Red Chilli Powder
- ¼ tsp Garam Masala
- 3-1/2 cup Water
- Ghee to fry
- Salt to taste
Cooking Instructions:
- In a large bowl, mix all the dals and wash them properly. Soak the mixed dals in water for about an hour.
- In a pressure cooker, heat water and add the mixed dals. Add turmeric powder and salt to it.
- in a pan, heat ghee and add asafetida and cumin seeds. Once the seeds sputters, add onions, garlic and green chilly and fry for two minute.
- Add tomatoes and fry for about a minute till they get mushy. Next, add red chilly powder.
- Put the above made mixture to the dal. Close the lid of the pressure cooker and cook on low heat till the dal gets soft.
- The delicious Mixed Dal is ready to serve with steamed rice or hot rotis.
