Ingredients:
- For Dough
- 1¼ lbs All-purpose Flour
- 2½ oz Vegetable Oil
- 2½ oz Warm Milk
- ½ tbsp Baking Powder
- 5 oz Warm Water
- 1/3 tsp Salt
For Spinach Filling
- 20 oz Spinach, chopped
- 3 oz Lemon Juice
- 1½ oz Canola Oil
- 1½ tbsp Dry Parsley
- 1 Onion, finely chopped
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
Cooking Instructions:
- For Dough
- Start with sieving the all-purpose flour in a bowl and then add all the ingredients (listed for dough) in it.
- Now, slowly mix the ingredients and add warm water as required, to make dough.
- Knead the dough into a ball, on a flat surface area, till it turns smooth and elastic.
- Form the dough into a ball and then put it in a lightly floured bowl. Cover it with a damp cloth, so that it does not become dry.
- Let it stay in a warm place for about 45 minutes or till the dough is double in size.
- Roll it out again and cut it into 3 inch diameter circles.
For Spinach Filling
- Drain all the juice from spinach until almost dry.
- Now, add all the ingredients (listed for filling) to it and mix thoroughly. Set aside.
For Pie
- Put a spoon of spinach mixture in the centre of the rolled-out dough circles.
- Now, fold the sides to form a triangle and pinch the sides to seal it. Repeat it till all the pies are assembled.
- Place them on greased cookie sheets and bake at a temperature of 350 degrees F, for 20 minutes or till the pies are slightly brown.
- Your delicious pies are ready to be served.
