Ingredients:
- For Filling
- 1 kg Mutton or Beef (minced, including the fat)
- 3½ tsp Salt
- 1 Onion (chopped)
- 2 cloves Garlic (crushed)
- Water (to mix)
For Dough
- 4½ cups Flour
- ½ tsp Salt
- Water (to mix)
- Cooking Oil (for frying)
Cooking Instructions:
- Mix together minced meat, salt, onion, garlic and water to form a firm paste. Keep aside.
- Combine flour and salt.
- Add water and knead to form dough.
- Divide the dough into small pieces and roll each one into a cylinder, about 3 cm in diameter.
- Cut each cylinder into 4 cm long cubes.
- Squash each cube into a circle and roll out into 8 to 10 cm wide circle, keeping the center thicker than the edges.
- Place some meat mixture in the center of the circle.
- Fold the circle, removing the air, and pinch into a twist pattern. Repeat with other pieces.
- Heat oil in a wok.
- Fry 3 to 4 pieces at one time, for 2 minutes on each side, till they turn brown and the meat is well cooked.
- Remove and serve hot.
Suggestions:
- Serve huushuur with tomato ketchup or soy sauce.
