Ingredients:
- For Ghattey
- 1 cup Besan (Gram flour)
- 1 tsp Hing (Asafoetida)
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 tsp Yogurt
- 1 tsp Red Chili Powder
- 2 cups Water (boiling)
- 2 tsp Oil
For Gravy
- 1 tbsp Ghee
- 5 small Red Chilies
- 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
- 1 cup sour Yogurt
- 1 Bay Leaf
- 1 tsp Besan (Gram flour)
- 1 tsp Red Chili Powder
- 1 cup Water
- 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1 tsp Coriander Powder
- 1 tbsp Coriander Leaves
- 1 tsp Dry Mango Powder (Amchoor)
- 2-3 Curry Leaves
- 1 tsp Garam Masala Powder
- 1 tsp Salt
Cooking Instructions:
- For Ghattey
- Mix together besan, hing, salt, and chili powder.
- Add yogurt, oil, and enough boiling water to make stiff dough.
- Start working with one-fourth cup of dough at a time.
- Roll it into thin cylindrical shape sticks.
- To cook theses sticks, drop them in boiling water
- When sticks rise onto the surface of water, remove them and let them dry on a tray.
For Gravy
- Heat the ghee in kadhai.
- When ghee is hot enough, add cumin seeds, curry leaves, bay leaf and chillies.
- Add mixture of yogurt and water to the kadai.
- Add ghattey pieces and the remaining ingredients.
- Bring to boil.
- Simmer until gravy is thick.
