Mexican Sugar Cookies

Ingredients:
- 1 cup White Sugar
- 1/2 tbsp Cream of Tartar
- 3 tbsp Ground Cinnamon
- 1 tbsp Baking Powder
- 1 tsp Aniseed (grounded)
- 6 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 2 Eggs
- 1/4 cup Orange Juice
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 cup White Sugar
- 2-1/2 cups Shortening
Cooking Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Beat 2-1/2 cups shortening until fluffy.
- Add anise seed and sugar, mix until creamy, also add eggs and blends well.
- Add cream of tartar, salt, flour, baking power and orange juice; mix well.
- Knead dough until it turns smooth and roll it to 1/2 inch thick.
- Using a cookie cutter cut into different shapes.
- Bake for 5 to 8 minutes.
- Roll cookies in mixture of cinnamon and sugar while still warm. Serve.
