Ingredients:
- 1¾ cups Flour
- 2 cups Dark Brown Sugar
- ¼ cup Butter
- 2 Eggs (beaten)
- 1½ cups Milk
- 1 tsp Vanilla Essence
- 120 g Chocolate (melted)
- 1 cup Almonds (grounded)
- 2 tsp Baking Powder
- ¼ tsp Soda Bicarbonate
- 1 tsp Salt
For Chocolate Frosting:
- 105 g plain Chocolate
- 60 g Butter (softened)
- 180 g Icing Sugar
- 1 tsp Vanilla Essence
- 1 tbsp Milk
Cooking Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350 °C.
- Grease a baking pan with butter and flour.
- Sift flour, brown sugar, baking powder, soda, and salt in a large bowl.
- Add butter, milk, and vanilla essence. Whisk thoroughly until light and smooth.
- Beat eggs with melted chocolate.
- Add to the flour batter and whip for another 2 minutes.
- Fold in almonds.
- Transfer the batter into the greased baking pan and bake for 45-50 minutes.
- Remove and cool to room temperature.
- Slice the cake horizontally into two parts.
- To prepare the frosting, combine chocolate with butter in a pan and heat until melted. Take off from heat.
- Stir in icing sugar, vanilla, and milk. Beat until smooth.
- Spread the chocolate icing on the lower piece of cake.
- Place the top cake piece and coat again with the icing.
- Drop the remaining icing on the sides of the cake.
- Refrigerate until set.
- Slice and serve cold.
