Ingredients:
- 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
- ½ cup Oatmeal (ground)
- ½ tsp Baking Powder
- ¼ tsp Baking Soda
- ½ tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- ¼ tsp Nutmeg
- ½ cup Raisins
- ½ cup chopped Dates
- ½ cup softened Butter
- ½ cup Brown Sugar
- 1 cup Apple (grated)
- ¾ cup Buttermilk
Cooking Instructions:
- Combine flour, oatmeal, nutmeg, cinnamon, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. Keep aside.
- Beat butter and brown sugar in a separate bowl, until light.
- Mix with the flour-mixture.
- Add raisins, dates, apples, and buttermilk. Knead into a smooth dough.
- Place on a buttered loaf pan.
- Create some steam inside the oven by placing a large pan of hot water inside.
- Remove the pan and bake the loaf pan at 275 degrees F for 2 hours.
- Remove from the oven and invert on a wire rack.
- Slice and serve warm.
