Ingredients:
- For the Dough:
- 500 ml Milk (lukewarm)
- 50 gm Yeast
- 1 Egg
- Salt (to taste)
- 100 gm Butter
- 1 kg All-Purpose Flour (Maida)
For the Filling:
- 1 White Cabbage (cored & shredded)
- Water as required
- Salt (to taste)
- 50 gm Butter
- 3 tbsp Molasses
- ½ tsp White Pepper (ground)
For the Glazing:
- 1 Egg (beaten)
- 1 tsp Sesame Seeds
Cooking Instructions:
- Heat butter in a pan and fry cabbage on low flame until soft.
- Stir in molasses, salt & white pepper.
- Take yeast with milk in a bowl and mix well. Mix in egg with salt.
- Pour into half flour and knead it well. Put in butter with sufficient flour and knead into soft dough. Then keep it covered with towel for 30 min.
- Flour a board and lay on the dough. Knead it for 2-3 min and divide into two portions.
- Spread out the dough portions into 2 thin sheets using rolling pin. Lay one sheet in a baking tray and pour over cabbage mixture.
- Top up with another sheet and seal the ends.
- Dig holes on the top using fork and keep it covered with towel for 15-20 min.
- Brush over egg and add on sesame seeds. Bake it at 200°C for 40 min.
- Serve it hot with tea or coffee.
