Ingredients:
- 1 ½ cup Raw Rice (preferably Basmati rice)
- 1 tbsp Black Pepper
- 1 tbsp Broken Urad Dal
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 1/2 tsp Jeera (Cumin Seeds)
- 1/2 tsp Mustard Seeds
- 1 pinch Asafetida
- 4 Curry Leaves
- 1 tbsp Ghee
- 3-4 Cashew Nuts
Cooking Instructions:
- Wash and cook the raw rice and allow it to cool in a wide mouth vessel.
- Add a little ghee and separate the grains
- Roast black pepper, urad dal in a frying pan until it turns light brown.
- Grind fried pepper and urad dal into a fine powder.
- Heat oil in the same pan, crackle mustard seeds, add turmeric powder, jeera and a pinch of asafetida and curry leaves to it.
- Now add the powdered ingredients, salt and mix well.
- Add this mixture to the cooked rice. Fry the cashew nuts in the ghee and mix thoroughly.
