SAT Test

It is a privilege for a student aspirant to get a chance to study abroad. The United States of America just happens to be one of the most sought after academic destinations for students all over the world. Who doesn't love to study abroad? However, it is not possible to admit each and every aspirant to an American university and hence the United States has a selection criterion - a standardized test to measure the literacy and writing skills of the candidate. This test is known as the SAT test and is of two types - SAT Reasoning Test to check the general writing skills and grammar and SAT Subject Test to check a candidate's knowledge in the subject chosen. The SAT test is owned, developed and conducted by the College Board of the United States of America. The College Board is a not-for-profit organization.

In this 3 hours, 45 minutes exam, a candidate is tested for critical reading, mathematics and writing. Critical reading includes two 25 minutes sections and one 20 minutes section. Candidates will have to take up the sentence completion test. This is to check the vocabulary of the candidate. Rest of the questions will be based on reading passages provided. The mathematics section is also divided into three parts - two 25 minutes sections and one 20 minutes section. There are rigid as well as multiple choice questions. Writing sections consists of multiple choice questions regarding sentence improvement, passage improvement, error identification, etc. to test a candidate's grammar and logical organization of ideas. In the USA, the SAT test is offered 7 times a year, basically on the first Saturdays of october, November December, January, March (or April) May and June. All other countries follow the same dates except for March-April. Results are usually sent directly to the candidate.
