The Popular de la Chontalpa or the Popular University of the Chontalpa (UPCh) is a public university located at Tabasco, Mexico. It is a coeducational university which allows integrated education for both men and women. It is the first municipal university of the country founded by the municipal government of the city of Cardenas. The institution was founded in 1995. It became a national institution of higher education in November, 1998. The University is a product of a combined effort of a group of people who belonged to the municipality of Cardenas. The state, back then, was suffering from a lack of educational resources. The institute was founded with a mission to contribute to the socio-economic development of the state of Cardenas and also the country. Within a short span of time, the University gained a higher position among the prestigious institutes of the country. Admission Procedure
The selection is based on an entrance test and also the academic results of the applicant. An applicant should have a GPA that amounts to a minimum of 7 to apply to the University. The test dates and application forms will be available in the website. Results of the entrance test will be published in the website. Selection is done on the basis of your performance and academic results. You will be asked to attend an induction course if you are selected for the academic program. Selected candidates have to undergo registration procedures conducted at the Directorate of School Services, Admission Department.
